First day of Stormageddon

Cold like life
The wind blows the snow

We are having a January Stormageddon 2014.  It is cold beyond cold.  We have been having some power fluctuations due to the wind and cold.  Tomorrow it is forecasted to be a high of -3 degrees.  The wind chill currently is -30 degrees.  Very not normal for where I live.  Even the government offices in most cities and counties are closed for Monday too. I need to make lots of phone calls tomorrow, I wonder who I will reach and won’t reach.
It is a little scary weather wise here.  Okay, very scary.  We have another round coming in on Wednesday too.  Hopefully not as cold as this one we are having now.
The wind is blowing so hard it is rattling the windows and the doors.  Driving my poor dogs crazy, they think someone is trying to get in the house.  I have to calm them down each major gust.
Our school district is closed.  An extra day off is nice (even though I do not have motivation to do anything productive) but I don’t get paid.  Not getting paid is not a good thing.  I had to borrow money from my parents to pay the year end taxes.
Today was a pajama day all day.  The DS was in the basement on the computer watching Doctor Who all day.  The DD was in her room watching whatever she felt like on her computer.  I took over the front room.  The three of us finished off the last of the giant pot of chili I made on New Year’s Day.  The last batch was mixed with the last of the macaroni and cheese we have.
Look for knit hats on Etsy soon, I hope.  I have about 7 done and will be doing some more.  I also will have those kitschy ruffle scarves I will put up too.  Maybe some beaded bracelets as well.  Not sure when I will get them up for sale, but I will.
Still trying to get the DD to register for the next semester of college that starts in a couple of weeks.  She says she is going but she still has not registered.  She won’t tell me why she is putting it off but she does say she is going.  The DS had two weeks to get a chemistry packet done so he could catch up in class.  It was like trying to catch a hissing cobra to get him to do even a little of it.  He says he wants to pass high school but he does not do his work.  The motivation level in our house is the lowest it has been in 4 or 5 years.  It is like they quit and don’t care anymore.
