What did I do on my spring break? Well the kids were on break from school also and John was on vacation from work. Rhi went to Washington D.C. for her 8th grade trip she signed up for and our credit cards paid for. She had a blast, how do I know? She is telling me very little about her trip, but when she does she is so happy and animated about it. Leading up to her leaving I was a nervous wreck, then while she was gone I hardly slept. My baby girl was away from me, on a long distance trip! How is a mother supposed to be when her 14 yr old child is gone? I finally slept well the night she came home.
Alex was just interested in playing his computer games and his DS. We just hung out together. His Boy Scout Troop had a Pancake Breakfast to raise money on Sunday morning and he spent one day with a friend. It was pretty quiet with him.
Now John, he was real quiet too. This was the first vacation he has taken that he was at peace with having a vacation. Normally he is driving me nuts with tension about not having something to do. He painted his figures when ever he could and only got crabby a few times.
That is about it. Only Rhi got a major thing done. But then the rest of the time she was just like us, slept in as long as our bodies told us to sleep, washed laundry only when we needed it, ate out as much as the budget could handle and kicked back and watched TV, played computer games and hung out. Oh and I blew off my homework till the last minute - what else is new my parents would say.
We did on Monday take a family day trip to downtown.
We went to Pappy's for lunch - a MUST go for B-B-Q lovers.
Then we went to the Soldiers Memorial
and the St. Louis City Public Library.
I love that building, all the old wood. The turtles outside holding up the lamp posts are my buds.
