Pancake breakfast was this am for the son's Boy Scout Troop. He and I got there about 10am. Not a lot of people there at that time but it seemed they were having a good time. When we left, the church was packed so I hope they got a really good rush at the end. They are required to sell 10 tickets, he sold 4 so I had to make up the difference. Oh well. I am proud of him selling the 4 that he did.
The son did not work it this time. He, as I have said in other posts, is not having a good time right now. Even though he has some good friends there that he likes to hang with at meetings and camping he just doesn't feel it anymore, much like his schooling. There are two main reasons he is thinking of moving to a Venturing Crew, okay three. The third one is that there are girls in Venturing. That's my son. The other two are his personal reasons which he keeps close but I know and will not betray his trust and tell them for him.
I am also so proud of him driving home the short distance from All Souls. He did great. It is a Sunday and there are not many people out on the road. It is also a very pretty yet cold day here. He did scare me when he pulled into the driveway and almost hit our pine tree next to the driveway. Then he parked with the front of the car in the yard and the back in the driveway. I was told, "you can fix it mom."
This is him 2 weeks ago driving with me on a Sunday in a business park. He is the last one of three that I have to teach how to drive. The other two were the daughter and her friend that lived with us for about a year in 2011-2012 when he was homeless.
So here is a mid day blog post for the verse to see and spread.
